Into Glory…

Today as I write this listening to Kim Walker’s rendition of “How He Loves” I am reminded of my purpose… our purpose here on this blue and green rock we call home. I lost a good friend today, an amazing Father, an affectionate and passionate Husband, and a truly shinning example of Christ alive in someones life. You see Bruce Sanzari wasn’t just your ordinary show up on Sunday sit in a chair and see if church rubbed off of you kind of guy. He was truly on fire… I mean his smile lit up a room about as much as Hawaiian shirts did. His life inspired others. His hugs were a warm reminder from God that we are all loved. His compassion was immeasurable. And his kindness was something to behold. He understood who he was, and who God had called him to be…an amazing reflection of Christ. God I am somewhat jealous that he is with You now and not hangin out here with family and friends, but at the same time comforted in knowing that he is rejoicing in heaven just in awe of You…and excited that someday soon we will meet up again. God thank you for bringing Bruce and his beautiful family into my life as well as my family.

Gods Wisdom….

So a couple of weeks ago we spoke on “Gods Wisdom”. Not only was it an incredible service, it was some what challenging to swallow some of the stuff that pastor was talking about. How many times do we question why God would allow for certain things to happen? I’ll be honest there are many times I’m thinking or asking the question “why God,why?” We may never know, or even fully understand all the things of God, but what we do know is that He is rich in wisdom, beyond all comprehension. Romans 11: 33-36 says this

³³Oh, the depth of the riches and^(A) wisdom and knowledge of God!^(B) How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

³⁴“For^(C) who has known the mind of the Lord,
or^(D) who has been his counselor?”
³⁵“Or^(E) who has given a gift to him
that he might be repaid?”

³⁶For^(F) from him and through him and to him are all things.^(G) To him be glory forever. Amen.

Paul was running up and down shouting “TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!!!!” we should follow his example..

After soaking in this passage I was left with the challenge of finding a song that would really drive this thought home. Many hours and days later I decided to stop my search and put pen to paper, and let the Holy Spirit inspire me. After 3 rough drafts, some borrowed melodies, and help from my buddy Matt Granger we came up with this song. We were quite proud of it and it seemed to be inspiring to many others at the church. Sorry for such a long delay on any updates. Well this week we talked about one of the more difficult concepts in God’s word…(Holiness). Pastor Doug did an amazing job as always, walking us through this, using Uzzah as the crux of his message. Holiness – to be set apart…nothing compares to Gods (Holiness), and He will not ever go against what He is. Even in the most difficult of situations. Dead-Heading

So I learned a new term from my mom this week called “Dead-Heading”, I believe that is the correct spelling. It is when the flowers are starting to die on a plant, and in order for all the nutrients to reach the rest of the plant and the ” soon to blossom ” flowers, the old ones are plucked away. I found that kinda ironic that God will do that in our lives. We think, well I am okay, I might be a little wilted, not as open as I once was but that’s okay, but in reality we need to allow God to prune back all the old thoughts and attitudes “old flowers” on a regular basis. He wants us as healthy as possible. You see when we fight with God on change, “Dead-Heading” we end up a wilted stinky mess. He knows what is best for us, and He has what is best in mind for us. Look at what John 15: 1-5 says…

The Vine and the Branches

¹ “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. ² He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes^[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. ³ You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. ⁴ Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

All Glory

If I can borrow the title of this song I will. A couple of months ago some friends of mine wrote this song, that in my personal opinion says it all. It’s one of those songs that once it gets in your ears it takes a while to get out. If you know me well enough, or have been around me long enough, you know that happens to me quite often. For example, as far back as I can remember, and I don’t know why ….when I am working with full focus on a project, I start whistling ” Strangers in the Night”…haha I don’t even know all the lyrics but its stuck in there, this is one of those songs. The title is “All Glory”, I mean you can’t go wrong with that title, but the verses talk about the Greatness of our King Jesus Christ, and the fact that no one, not a single person can escape the awe-ness of Him. Here is a quick pass at Verse 2….

Every blessing, every right, every trial, every fight weʼll see, the greatness of our King. Kings and Queens and royalty, presidents and highest priests will sing, the greatness of our King.

The Chorus goes on to say….

All glory be to God, all glory be to God, we will shout, we will sing, all glory be to God

I think David said it best in Psalm 145

Imagine the Power……

So imagine that you are in the middle of New York City on New Years eve, 1 minute before the ball is about to drop. Dick Clarke as best he can is getting ready to do the count down. Energy is bubbling up all around you. The noise ise is so intense that you can’t even here your own thoughts. You can’t control the way you move because you are trapped between thousands, and thousands of bodies. But in your head you think, I wonder how many people would hear me if I shouted out the command “MOVE”. How many would respond, how many would hear, how many times would I have to say it, how loud could I yell. This morning I was reading through Psalms 77, and was reminded that in my life I go through the similar struggles that this writer did. How often though during those struggles do I remind myself of the GREATNESS and POWER of God. Verse 16 says this…When the Red Sea saw You, how it feared! It trembled to its depths! 17 The clouds poured down their rain, the thunder rolled and crackled in the sky. Your lightning flashed. 18 There was thunder in the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the whole world! The earth trembled and shook. 19 Your road led by a pathway through the sea – a pathway no one knew was there! 20 You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds. Whoa….here you are yelling at that top of your lungs in the middle of Time Square, and no one is budging, but water runs, moves, separates at the mere image of God. It didn’t matter how loud the river was, it didn’t matter how huge that body of water was. It recognized its creator, and was obedient. Are we recognizing the POWER of our creator in the middle of our crazy circumstances? Are we obedient? Are you ready to walk through water….you might not get wet, but you wont know until you start walking….there might just be a path that you would have never seen.

Catching Up

Sooooo the last couple of months have been crazy around here!!!! All a good crazy, a “GOD” crazy. Here are a couple of pics of what kinda transformations have been taking place. Within a week span at the end of March we had our sound system completely overhauled by an amazing company called Clark. What a pleasure it has been to work with their entire crew, as they have been along side of us through this journey, and man does this place sound AMAZING!!!, so much more energy in the room….. We also held our first youth conference called MERGE….what a powerful time, I can’t wait for next year…. so here are some of the pics….by the way my wife Cristy did the stage design, I thought it turned out sick yo!!!
