What do we do with our freedom.?.?.?.? Do we sit in our air-conditioned rooms, with our shoes kicked off feet up in the air living like kings and queens?Do we drive around in meaningless circles, empty quests, to fill up the day from being bored. Do we pull out a glass, pour ourselves a drink and give toasts to our good riches and health. I don’t know about you but I think I might be describing myself. I have a tendency to forget very easily how I came about this freedom. How many people died so that I can have an opportunity to live. But there is another aspect of freedom that I forget about as well. It’s the one I hide sometimes. It’s the one I cover with pride saying ” I did this! ” It’s the one I hold tight sometimes to myself saying it’s mine, I figured it out, and I don’t want to share, so you won’t see it. I will blend in, and hide it from you. Even when I come into a corporate place where others have that same freedom. I am ashamed, I am afraid, I don’t feel like being judged today. Then I so easily slip into a daily routine of the same. Does this sound familiar? Does this sting? In 2 Corinthians 3 it talks of an everlasting freedom through Christ. One that cannot be contained or covered. One that is not affected by the law. Vs. 16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. The things that we look at, as symbols of freedom that this world has to offer, are the exact opposite. They actually control us, manipulate us, and restrain us from the offering of freedom that Christ provides. But it is not only for us to have, it is for others to see as well. What kind of “VEIL” do you have covering that freedom. How are you showing your lifestyle of worship.?.?.?
